John Wick: Chapter 4 is an upcoming American action film directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad. It is the fourth installment in the John Wick film series, and the sequel to the 2017 film John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the titular character, John Wick. The film is set to be released on May 27, 2022.

The first John Wick movie was released in 2014, directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, and written by Derek Kolstad, it stars Keanu Reeves as John Wick, a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the theft of his vintage car and the killing of his puppy, a gift from his recently deceased wife. The film was well received by critics, and grossed $88 million worldwide.

The success of the first film led to the development of two sequels, John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, both of which were also directed by Stahelski and written by Kolstad. The second and third films followed the continuing adventures of John Wick as he is dragged back into the criminal underworld. Both films were also financially successful and critically acclaimed, leading to the development of a fourth film.
