RENFIELD:
Renfield is a made-up character from "Dracula," written by Bram Stoker in 1897. He is a patient at a mental institution when the vampire Count Dracula visits, and he later becomes Dracula's obedient follower. The way that Renfield is portrayed as a man who enjoys eating spiders, insects, and other small animals serves as a metaphor for his yearning forvampire-like qualities and his eventual metamorphosis into a vampire himself.
